Lying entirely within Nepal, the Annapurna Himal offers one of the world’s most famous mountain panoramas with no less than II summits above 7000 m. some of the world’s highest mountains and deepest valleys are found here. Cascading waterfalls and terraces bathed in brilliant tones of yellow with an eerie like view on infinite foothills of the Himalayas evoking strong feelings of physical challenge, personal journey and intellectual discovery exist.
This classical trail climbs through mule tracks working up to the tip of Tibet and for centuries have linked isolated communities nestled in the Himalayas. The early days trek offers views of Lamjung, Annapurna II and IV. After Chame the trail enters a steep and narrow valley and deep forests. Just before Pisang thee are views of Annapurna II to the south and Pisang Peak to the north east.
The trek leads to Manang on the Tibetan Plateau which is home to people of Tibetan origin and culture. The halt here offers opportunities for excellent day excursions. The ridge north of the village offers views on Annapurna IV, II and Tarkedyang of a descend from the village leads to a Glacial Lake formed from ice drops from slopes of Gangapurna. Ahead, the Thorang La pass leads to Muktinath, the holy shrine for both Hindus and Buddhists to finally join an ancient trail to descend into its west.
