From Pokhara, the trek leads into the heart of the Dhaulagiri massif and onto the Dhaulagiri Base Camp which is perched on the Chhonbardan Glacier at the very foot of the mountain’s north ridge.

Soaring high in splendor above the Kali Gandaki Valley, Dhaulagiri rises majestically in a huge wedge of glistening snow melting down its rock buttresses. Unspoiled villages scatter in the lower foothills of this world’s highest mountain. The around Dhaulagiri Trek penetrates the inner sanctuary of the massif and circumnavigates Dhaulagiri. The trek takes us through a veritable wonderland of meadows, forest and villages contrasted between the ice-white peaks set against conifer and rhododendron forests.

This high mountain journey leads to the French Pass and the Thapa Pass to the upper reaches of the Kali Gandaki Valley which follows a traditional route back into Pokhara.
