The name Ganesh is taken from the elephant headed Hindu God of good luck. This area has been little explored and consequently not well known and may appeal to those with a keen sense of adventure.
Leaving behind the hubhub of Trishuli Bazaar, the trail climbs up terraced hillsides of medieval settlements with wooden tiled roofs and prayer flags setting a cadence for climbing the hills of Nepal. It leaves behind the gushing Trishuli Khola North West to Balche and Gonga villages. Further up, we go through villages of showthang and Dumchet making a semi-circle with views of the Ganesh Himal, Manaslu and Himal Chuli above cloud filled valleys. the tridhuli valley hills are clad with evergreen forests, thundering waterfalls and oaks, alders, firs and rhododendron forests. It is often said than man, animal and the mountain seem bound so close that they have a single identity.
